What Causes Dryness And Tingling Sensation On The Tongue?

I am experiencing a dry feeling on the tip of my tongue and the inside of my lips. There is also a burn/tingle feel to my tongue as well. I may be making this up but I really think my taste buds have diminished...Things just don't taste the same. Any ideas?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Dryness of tongue and inside of lips can be due to dry mouth and loss of normal taste sense is also due to reduced saliva secretion.

This is because saliva plays a role in normal functioning of the taste buds..

Burn or tingly feeling can be due to inflammation inside mouth due to reduced saliva secretion..

So first of all get the dry mouth treated..

Start chewing sugar free chewing gum, suck lemon drops and use specialised mouthwash like Biotene..
Drink plenty of water..
For burning sensation suck ice..

If the symptoms does not get better in about 10 days get a clinical examination done by an Oral Physician..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
