For over a month now, I have swelling in my throat & glands, my throat is DRY, i have phlegm buildup on & off, i can t clear my throat, it is always gruffly, my voice is always hoarse, the dryness causes gruffly irritation which causes me to cough uncontrollably, my throat/glands close up and i can t breathe. I don t have my usual energy, tire more easily. It all started out with a very dry (sore) throat (1 mo ago), my throat felt swollen, like a neck collar was squeezing around my throat, I didn t feel well, less energy. After about a week or more my 1st episode was in the morning, I woke up with very dry irritated throat causing me to cough and my throat swelled up dramatically, I could NOT BREATHE. I had this severity, continuously for 4-5 days, every morning and different times throughout the day; congestion/phlegm in my throat. Not in my lungs at that time, but soon followed with bronchitis. antibiotics cleared up my lungs, it s over a month now, and my throat has not improved. Throughout all of this, I ve had restriction with breathing because of my throat, not my lungs (I have asthma). , although I can still feel the restriction with breathing (from my throat*) my lungs are clear (amoxicillin 500 cleared up my bronchitis).. air restriction indirectly affects my lungs, it s my throat (swelling) that causes this restriction, resulting ; some restriction with breathing in lungs. I am still having coughing episodes (since this began) throughout the morning/day/evening, throat dries more and becomes more irritated i cough uncontrollably, and my throat/glands swell and block/restrict my breathing. I still feel like my throat area has a neck brace on squeezing it. Im still hoarse..Throughout all of this, my taste and sense of smell has diminished. I was told i may have thyroiditis, but some of my symptoms tell me i may have something else, or both??
