What Causes Dryness An Redness Of Eyes With Pain After The Treatment For Keratoconus Disease?

Hello Doc !
I had been experiencing itchiness in the eyes and the white portion in my eyes used to get red irrespective of rubbing for the last three years, I even tried some eye drops upon the prescription of an eye Doctor but it did'nt work. Even if I would just slightly touch the white portion it used to get red in no time. I consulted another Opthalmologist and upon his prescription underwent Collagen Crosslinking (C3R) Iin May 2013 for Left eye and then C3R for Right eye (Spet, 2013) to rectify Kerotoconus disease. Post surgery, I have also been prescribed Vel Drop Eye gel (Double strength) and RGPs Contact lenses.

Sir my problem is that even after surgery and despite using Vel drop eye gel I am experiencing slight pain in my Right eye and someitmes I observe a tiny red coloured patch on the white portion of my Left Eye which would remain there for a minimum of 3 to 4 days. Firstly, what cure would You recommend to arrest this problem??

Now, I am going to get RGPs my worry is regarding this dryness of eyes and consequent redness and slight pain that I am experiencing even without using Contact lenses. So my worry is that the persistent use of the RGPs Contact lenses would lessen the Oxygen supply to the Cornea and may aggravate this condition ?

And lastly What should I do to enhance the vision of my Right eye which is kind of a Lazy eye ??
Look forward to a feedback from your end. Kindly Help!!

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having keratoconus with allergic conjunctivitis and you have taken treatment for keratoconus in the form of C3R.
As of now you are having dry eyes and use of contact lenses can increase the dryness.
Hence you may need to avoid them.

Since you are having poor vision in right eye this may be because of irregular astigmatism which is seen in keratoconus.

Hence you can consider having Intacs surgery for keratoconus which can cure most of your problems.

Thank you
