Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend constantly gets dry skin below the head of his penis and almost every time we have sex he will get red sores that look as if they are caused from friction. We use a good amount of water based lube and have only had sex with each other. It s happened the entire time we have been together (six years both were virgins). So last night he had dry skin, like usual, he wiped it off and it was good as new. Well during intercourse we withdrew and when he went to go back he stopped because it hurt, and he discovered that he was bleeding. What can be done to fix this problem? It is huge problem in our sex like.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Dry skin below penis head, development of red sores and bleeding - these symptoms are suggestive of a skin lesion called psoriasis. Although there are many skin diseases which can cause dryness and redness of skin however, psoriasis needs to be ruled out before looking for other causes. Psoriasis is a skin disease in which the skin is flaky, dry, covered with silver scales. The affected skin can bleed after trauma or friction. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist for clinical assessment, investigations and diagnosis. Management can be planned after a diagnosis is made.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
