What Causes Dry Mouth And Skin Rashes After Treating Sore Throat?

Hello Doctor, I've been sick for almost 25 days now. Had sore throat for few days then disappeared. After it disappear, I got chills, night sweats especially at the neck and shoulders for a week. No more night sweats but the chills and the hot flashes keeps still occur . After that, I'm always dizzy, light headed, always tired and fatigued. No running nose, no coughs, and no sneezing. Recently, my mouth is dry, headaches, and have a skin rash on my right shoulder. No other rashes on my body though. Can you tell what's wrong ? And Should I be concerned ? Thank you

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dry mouth and skin rashes after treating sore throat which is because of upper respiratory tract infection.

No need to worry about it. Dry mouth is mainly due to dehydration of oral cavity and enlargement of papillae of tongue. Drink plenty of water. Take diet rich in fluids. Take multivitamin tablet to booster immunity of oral cavity. Chew on few drops of lemon or put them in oral cavity to stimulate taste secretions. Apply calamine lotion on skin rashes. If your symptoms did not resolve in one week visit ENT specialist and get it examined properly and start treatment as per prescription. Maintain hygiene and do beta-dine gargles two times a day.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
