What Causes Dry, Flaky And Itchy Scalp And Hair Loss?
My scalp is flaky and oozing a clear sticky liquid. I noticed I m starting to lose a lot of hair every time I wash it which is every other day. I also have scabs or sores on my arms hands and legs and feet which itch and sometimes also weep. They won t seem to heal. My skin has been extremely dry. My lips are dry and cracked. My eyelids and the corner of my eyes also are dry and cracked making it very uncomfortable. My right ear hurts and feels like there is liquid trapped inside. What is the cause of all this and is it related to menopause? My dermatologists don t seem to know. Please help! It is effecting every part of my life!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to seborrhoeic dermatitis. Using medicated shampoos like salicylic acid with ketoconazole and zinc pyrethione will be helpful for this. If there is no improvement then local application of corticosteroid creams will be needed.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
