What Causes Dry Eyes And Severe Itching In The Eyes?

My eyes are itchy and dry. I have been using Systand Balance eye drops & they give some relief but early in the day and in the evenings they seem worse. In addition, my eyelids have become very itchy and a bit scaly. I have not been using eye makeup for some time, except for occasional eye liner (with an eye brow pencil). I use Aveda facial cleanser to wash my face & since the problem started, I have used OCuSOFT Lid Scrub once a day. It helps temporarily, but the problem continues. What do you suggest?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is blepharitis may be stye. It can be dandruff affecting lid from scalp or eyebrow. You can use Ocusoft lid scrub and apply Neosporin eye ointment on lid margin and clean by sterile gauge. Do not use any make up especially, eyeliner. Wash your face with fresh water and can apply Cromal eye drop. Apply Nizral solution followed by Nizral shampoo. It can be repeated. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
