i had cabg two months ago. for the past one month i am having dry cough with frothy white sputum. I have a little esonophils. the cough is not continuous, comes once in a while but lasts for about 15 seconds and i spit white frothy saliva. can you suggest a remedy
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Cough with frothy saliva in CABG (Coronary artery bypass grafting) patient can be due to heart failure. Actually heart failure causes pulmonary edema. And this can cause cough with frothy sputum. You are also having eosinophilia (high eosinophil count). It is seen is allergic diseases liked asthma. This can also cause cough. So better to consult doctor and get done 1. Ecg and 2d echo to rule out heart failure. 2. PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out asthma. Don't worry, with appropriate treatment, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
