Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that dry and burning tongue that is occurring since 5 years can be due to causes like severe dehydration, side effects of medications if you take any, salivary gland dysfunction, nerve damage supplying salivary gland, oral infections like thrush, Sjogren's Syndrome..etc..
It does not seems to be due to recent causes as you already has it since 5 years although side effects of medicines and acid reflux can add up to the burning problem..
-For burning sensation you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-For dry mouth chew sugarfree chewing gums..
-Drink plenty of water.
-Avoid regular mouthwash and use specialised mouthwash that are formulated for dry mouth patients like Biotene..
-You can also instil artificial saliva drops..
-Suck tart candies as it also stimulates saliva flow..
-Suck ice pops..

If does not improve consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
