What Causes Dropping Sugar Level?

I am a femaile, 57 years old, diebetic, nrmal high blood pressure, suger has been diving to 45-55, I have had all meds cut back to half, I have lost 14 lbs and blood work is normal, but the pain in my left side fron raiating to the back, seems like when the suger starts to drop. I am eating plenty, maybe too much to try to keep sugar levels up.

Hi

Thanks for posting your query.

In my practice what I have observed is only 3 causes are there for dropping sugars in a diabetic patient .

1. Improper dosage of diabetic medication.
2. Inadequate or improper timing of food intake.
3. Detereorating kidney function.

As per your word you said all blood tests were normal. I presume kidney function test was done in that blood test.
So we are left with cause 1 and 2.

Since your food intake is good i think your diabetic medications need adjustment. I advise you to post your medications along with the dose i shall review it and adjust your medication.
