General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Mam,
This is a common concern of young and newly wed couples. Bleeding from penis could be due to various reasons, among which most common one is tear in the penile skin during the intercourse which can rupture the blood vessel. During the intercourse, penis is erect due to filling of blood in the spaces of penile tissue. This can explain the profuse bleeding even if the wound is hardly visible. To prevent this, make sure to use a lubricant adequately before the intercourse.
