What Causes Drainage Of Pus From Ears Of An Infant?

Last night 1 year old tugging on ear, appeared to be in pain no fever, large soft wax removed gently from ear. This morning does not appear to be in pain, cream colored thin fluid draining from ear, no smell. Child has had no fever...thoughts? Suggestions?

HI and thank you for your question on HCM!

Well, the wax draining from the ear is not a really problem since the ear produces the wax to protect from pathogens. But fluid leaking especially when its yellow or brown or any other color make me think more about otitis media, and a perforated eardrum membrane. Please meet your ENT doctor to do an ear examination and then take the proper medical cure.
Thank you again.
All the best for you!
