What Causes Dizziness With Tingling Sensation In Tongue?

today I was sitting at the book store reading and I has a sudden feeling of dizziness followed withing seconds by as tingling sensation of my entire tongue. The whole thing lasted about one minute. I am on Advair inhaler, no other medications. My BP has been somewhat volatile in the past year, but I am on no meds and it has been fine past three months. No history of heart disease or kidney disease, prediabetic, age 71. Ministroke, anxiety attack, what?

Neurologist, Surgical 's  Response
Hi there, I think that your symptoms could certainly be very concerning for a "ministroke" or TIA (temporary ischemic attack). I would recommend that you go to an emergency room right away, as often times TIAs can happen before a true stroke, which of course you would want to prevent (either with medication, depending on the cause, and sometimes with surgery). I do not think that your symptoms are concerning for an anxiety attack as they disappeared after one minute and weren't associated with a panicked sensation. The first step the doctors will likely do at the emergency room is to look at the blood vessels in your brain and neck, likely with CT or MRI. I wish you well and hope this answer was helpful to you.
