What Causes Dizziness And Vomiting During Pregnancy?

Hi, I m 20 week pregnant. All of a sudden I felt very dizzy. I was preparing dinner and stood for 45 mins , i don t no what happened , I was frying some stuff in oil and my eyes started burning as if im very sleepy, was very dizzy and felt like vomating. I could not stand for any longer and was felling more dizzy with my eyes open. So I sat and closed my eyes ad drank water. After 15 mins I checked my BP which came to 92 by 67. What does this mean. Why all of a sudden. Felt very dizzy. Please help and let me know. Thanks Kanika.

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. You seem to have hypotension which is very common in pregnancy due to effect of the progesterone hormone ,the levels of which are increased in pregnancy.
It lowers the blood pressure, especially on prolonged standing, and causes dizziness and nausea.
You need not worry and avoid prolonged standing.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
