What Causes Dizziness And Stomach Upset After Taking Metformin?

Dear Doctor , I have for the last few months been diagnosed with Blood sugar ( Hb1c - 6.4 , PP last checked a week ago is 196) . I was , until last week only on Zanuvia 100 , but the local physician has added Glycomet 500 to my afternoon diet. I am currently on Glycomet ( Metformin) 500 with food in the afternoon and Zanuvia 50 at night ( plus Atorva TG). My problem now with Metformin is drowsiness . Taken with other meds at night , Metformin causes stomach upsets so I had to shift it to afternoon. Is there any further adjustment needed to my dosages etc to avoid this sleepiness ? My age is 57 , weight 75 and height 5 6 . Shall be thankful for a response.
