What Causes Dizziness And Blurred Vision?

HI, I ve had a weird symptom that has been happening for a few weeks. As soon as I sit down after doing housework or what ever I m doing, It takes everything I have not to just drop my head and fall asleep. The scary thing is this is happening while I m driving. The other day it just hit out of thee blue and I tried to force my eyes to stay open then I hit the bumps on the road like I was passing out again and I tried to open them and I kept almost crossing over the lines. This is very strange, it is also happening at home at soon as I sit down and relax that same feeling comes over me like I cannot control it. Sometimes I get the feeling like I m going to throw up. What could this be? It seems as long as I m up and busy I m fine but no sooner than I sit down whether I m in a car or home this happens. If someone is with me or I m concentrating on something it does not happen. What do you think it may be?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to narcolepsy or sleep apnea.

I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and some tests:

- a multiple sleep latency tests to investigate for the above disorders
- pulmonary function tests to exclude possible airway obstruction (part of obstructive sleep apnea)
- an arterial blood gas analysis.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards, Dr. Aida
