Hi, you know that one shouldn't use ear buds, so no explanation about that. Your symptoms can be because of injury to tympanic membrane with or without a perforation. So, your symptoms can be because of pressure and resultant injury to ear drum, ossicles or further down or may be by actual hitting of ear bud to the ossicles. Actual hitting by going with an ear bud through the ear drum is usually less likely unless you have something hitting from outside on your hand which was holding the bud. In all these circumstances, please get an ENT examination done to see for any perforation. In case you don't want to, keep the ear dry and take a painkiller and labrynthine sedatives few days. If discomfort or vertigo persists, see an ENT. Regards
