What Causes Discomfort In The Rectum?

I have experienced rectal sensitivity and discomfort which also involves my genital area for the past 3 weeks. I am seeing my primary care physician on Monday. I do know that I have a small hemeroid that bleeds on occasion. Question is do you think it could be rectal cancer?

Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic.
Rectal cancer is the last thing to think of,however examination should be done and if you are older than 50,you should do colonoscopy as well. Most common causes of such sensation are hemorrhoids, fissure or polyp and these can be treated surgically as well.
I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
