What Causes Discomfort In Scrotum After A Disc Prolapse?
Dear Doc I have a disc prolapse in l4-l5 region.. I used to have severe pain in my right leg and numbness. But after some physiotherapy i do not have pain n numbness in my leg. But recently, i have a strange sensation in my scrotum and penis as if an ant is crawling. This sensation comes onlywhen i sit. Also when i sit in the closet for bowel movement, my scrotal area becomes numb mildly. I am terrified because of this and greatly worried. Can you please let me know if this is because of my prolapsed disc? Do I need to undergo immediate medical care? Are these symptoms of Cauda Equina Syndrome? Regards, Vivek
Dear patient This has nothing to do with disc prolapse and is also not symptom of cauda equina syndrome. Scrotal sensation might be due to local skin conditions and needs to be checked by skin specialist. So either examine yourself or you can visit skin specialist nearby you and get examined.
