What Causes Difficulty To Urinate Post Stent Removal?

My wife just had stents removed after battling cancer. She s doing ok but enduring some pain and can not urinate properly post stent removal. This is only a few hours after procedure. Should I be concerned and when should I take her to the emergency room if needed?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have difficulty to urinate post stent removal. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like recurrence of stones, stricture in the ureter or inflammation. I would suggest you to consult urologist again without any delay . Doctor may order ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may treat according to diagnosis and to prevent scaring in case of stricture .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
