What Causes Difficulty In Breathing?

i'm 16 and i've been tested negative for asthma but i have trouble breathing. i don't smoke or anything that would cause breathing issues. i'm always trying to catch my breath. even when i'm breathing it feels like im holding my breath and when i finally catch my breath i feel better for a few seconds then have to catch my breath again. this is constantly going on but there are some moments when its much worse than usual. when i move my upper body side to side it makes a loud scratchy sound and its painful. this has progressively gotten worse ever since i got a cold two years ago. what could be wrong?
