What Causes Difficulty In Balancing The Eye Movement?

My balance is really bad. No dizziness. Have head noises when I have my eyes open and moved them from one side to the other. No nausea. I recently went off of Zoloft which I had been taking for about 8 years. I cut them down slowly and quit taking them altogether about 1 and 1/2 wks ago. I mention this because it seems that the noises associated with eye movement started about the same time. The balance problem has been on going for about 6 months and is worse when nervous or shopping in grocery to department stores. (I think from eyes roaming in many directions.)

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having abnormal eye movements and difficulty in balance movements.
This indicates nystagmus and vertigo. The common causes are problems of the peripheral vestibular system involving the inner ear or diseases of the central vestibular system involving the nervous system.
Hence this requires evaluation to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
