What Causes Diarrhoea During Pregnancy?

Hi doctor. I'm currently pregnant (only 4w3d). I've experiencing severe diarrhea for two consecutive days, the past few days were still okay (very mild). I wonder what causes the diarrhea? Can it because of the duphaston I take twice daily? Shall I be concerned and see a doctor/gynae immediately?? Will diarrhea affect my baby?? I'm very worried because I've had two miscarriage before. Thanks.

Welcome to HealthcareMagic,
Your diarrhea is not due to duphaston. It is due to infection by bacteria or virus. You have to be careful not to get dehydrated. You need to drink plenty of fluids and keep your self hydrated. If you are properly hydrated then it will not effect the baby. Use an ORS solution to correct your body fluids. Take 1 litre of clean drinking water and mix 1 packet of ORS in it and take it as much as you want. Hope that answers your question.
Regards, Dr.Imaad.
