What Causes Diarrhoea And Dizziness While On Colchicine For Gout?

Hello, My husband is taken Eliquis to eliminate blood clots in both lungs that happen two weeks ago. Also, my husband suffered recently with Gout and is taken Colchicine. His right foot (big toe) is much better now. The swelling and pain are gone. He now has diarrhea and says he is feeling dizzy. Should we wait until tomorrow and see his doctor? Thank You,Betty and David Smith,718 379-2934

Hello,

Diarrhoea is a classic side effect of colchicine. He might be dizzy due to the diarrhoea making him dehydrated which might lower blood pressure. Your husband should increase fluid intake. Oral rehydration sachets may help. Yes you should see your doctor who might reduce or stop the colchicine.

Kind Regards
