What Causes Diarrhea And Severe Abdominal Gas?

I have been seeing a doctor for trouble with my bowels. I have a lot of gas, quite a lot of mucous, and diahrrea every week to 10 days. I just had a hydrogen breath test and am waiting to see if my insurance will cover Xifican. The doctor thinks I have bacterial overgrowth in my bowels.

The description of your symptoms looks like you are suffering from irritable bowel syndrome diarrhoea predominant. Though the exact cause of this condition is unknown, the altered bacterial flora in the intestine can contribute to gas and diarrhoea. Xifaxan (rifaximin) may help in such cases by supporting growth of favourable bacteria in the gut. Hope the above information solves your query. Thank you.
