What Causes Diarrhea And Constipation In An Elderly Person?

My upper stomach has been steadily swelling the last month or more and I have had bloody mucus stools and diarrhea and constipation and now I am having soft very black stools. I am a 56 yr old female with high blood pressure and COPD. Should I see a doctor? I am getting cramps like a Charlie Horse as well but in my sides and under my breasts. It is very uncomfortable and is a steady pain that has not been letting up.
