My mom is at nursing home. Dementia, had high blood pressure, potassium very low at one point. She was refusing more help past summer when in hospital. Last week when my sister went to see her , she was talking more off the wall stuff then usual, so she mentioned to the nurse that she should check for UTI. My niece saw her yesterday and she talked and ate . Today my sister went to see her and she was barely moving, finally sat up , did not eat and had a hard time answering questions , finally said yes and no a few times. She is a very talkative person..not sure if she might have had a stroke? Staff there said might be dementia too..she had a bad tooth, I wonder if infection could be part of problem too. She refuses care. Could it be potassium, infection? Sorry long story
