What Causes Delirium After An Emergency Thoracic Aortic Dissection?

I have a friend who's mother had an emergency thoracic aortic dissection of the extreme nature. That was a Wednesday, By Friday, she was also experiencing delirium tremens due to many many years of alcohol abuse. She is now intubated, sedated, and hands are restrained from pulling at tubes. What is the prognosis for cases like this? I realize this might be too vague. At present she is highly sedated and uncommunicative.

HI
Well come to HCM
Post surgical delirium is very common and that is happening because of anesthesia, if this is not post surgical then this might be due to some cerebral pathology, may be post pyrexia, age of patient is missing here, now as long as the prognosis is concern, if the vital organs are intact then prognosis would be good, clinical condition is matter here, hope this information helps, have nice a nice day.
