What Causes Delayed Periods?
My period is 3 days late, almost 4 days late. Husband and I had unprotected sex every day during ovulation week. No signa of period coming. Nipples are sore and darkened, white discharge, but negative pregnancy tests. Could I just be testing too soon? How common are false negatives?

Most common cause of delayed period in your case is pregnancy as you had regular unprotected sexual intercourse in ovulation week.
Sore nipples, darkening of nipple, and white discharge from breast are symptoms associated with pregnancy due to increased progesterone level.
In most cases (almost 100 percent ) urine pregnancy test give false negative result at 3-4 days late period. At it is very early to detect HCG in urine.
I advice you to repeat the home urinary pregnancy test after one week (10-10 days after delayed period) by using fresh urine sample in the early morning.
You can also confirm the pregnancy by Blood HCG or USG scan as accurate than HPT.
