What Causes Delayed Periods Despite Taking Duphaston?

I had irregular periods however with medication it has been regularised. My was under follicular study untill day 15th but since the folliclw size didnt grow after 12 mm the dr advised me to take Duphaston so that my next period is on time. Even after taking tablet i didn t get my periods. I am 10 days due from my period date. I took pregnancy test the 31st day of my cycle it came negative. Im having pain in breast and severe back ache. At times i have cramps and pain in the ankles. Wat cud b the reason

The causes of delayed periods despite taking Duphaston could be due to: (1) emotional stress or illness
(2) thyroid disease
(3) high levels of the prolactin hormone
(4) polycystic ovarian syndrome
(5) excess physical activity
If your period does not come even after 15 days, then you may need hormonal blood tests and imaging studies to determine if any of the above disorder is present.
Treatment would depend on the cause found.
