What Causes Delayed Periods And Negative Pregnancy Test?

hi doc. i i had my last period on the 8th of june and was scheduled to hv my next on the 4th. My bf and i got naughty on the 18th but did not hv sex. he ejaculated against me. i immediately washed and took postinor 2 within the hr. i took my second postinor 2 tablet 45mins late. its the 5th. my period has not come but hpt is negative. am i pregnant?

Hi dear!
You have taken the Postinor tablets within 2 hours after the so called exposure to the semen and repeated again after 45 minutes. These tablets are for emergency contraception and are very effective. Hence there are very minimal chances that you become pregnant due to this sex.
You have done your pregnancy test too early. It will not give you any conclusive result. Just one missed day is too early. Pregnancy test on urine is reliable only after 8-10 days of missed period. So wait for a week more. Probably by that time you will get your menses. If not, then you can go for pregnancy test on urine and for further confirmation, if you want you can get your ultrasonography also done.
