What Causes Delayed Periods Along With White Vaginal Discharge While On Nuvaring?

My girlfriend had a mishap with her Nuvaring. She had left it out for 3 days from the 23rd to the 26th of March. On the 26th she place it back in. 12 days later (April 6th) we had unprotected sex and did not pull out. That following Saturday she removed her Nuvaring on Saturday, April 11th per her schedule and has thus missed her period which is now one week. Yesterday evening she began to have white thick discharge without any signs of pre period symptoms or blood and is scheduled to place her Nuvaring in this evening. I am wondering if this is just a chemical hormonal reaction from the birth control or if it is pre pregnancy symptoms.

I understand your concern.
Nuvaring is a contraceptive ring having combined contraceptive. It is supposed to be inserted on 4-5 days periods, retained for 3 weeks continuously & withdrawn after that for one week. This is the time when she gets her bleeding. She has to reinsert it on 7th day of withdrawal & so on..
It seems your fr4iend had made an error in it's use last month.
The white discharge can be a symptom of conception/ premenstrual symptom also.The diagnosis/exclusion of pregnancy will be by doing pregnancy test after 8 days delay in periods. ( don't use ring these days/ observe abstinence or use alternative barrier contraception ( condom) till then.
