What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Nausea And Fatigue?

HI, I m a 22 yo. I was supposed to get my period 15 days ago, but it didn t come. 8 days ago I bled for few hours, it was very dark blood and in small amounts, and that was it. I have cramps, but I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome year ago. I have had nausea and I ve been throwing up last couple of days, but that can be due to my gastritis and GERD. I am very bloated, tired and moody. Besides that, I have no other symptoms but headache. Is there a possibility of pregnancy?

Hi,

Though your symptoms are not sure shot for diagnosing pregnancy, it is certain that what you are experiencing are hormonal changes effecting your body. In order to make sure you have pregnancy, firstly be clear whether you had unprotected sex in near history then you have to get a UPT test done.

1) If you have menses in your regular dates then you can be sure that you do not have pregnancy. Even if you miss your dates, take a UPT, if its positive then only you can be sure of pregnancy.

2) If you miss your dates, do an UPT and if its negative, then wait for 2 to 3 days for menses and visit a gynecologist for thorough examination. The reasons for your symptoms could be certainly evaluated then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suhas Chauhan
