General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A negative pregnancy test if with a valid test kit may exclude pregnancy. Other possible causes of delayed period may include: hormonal imbalances, PID, stress. These may also cause abdominal cramps/other symptoms. I will however, advice you see the gynecologist for examination and a pelvic ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
