What Causes Delayed Period While HPT Is Negative?

hi.. my periods is due by 4 days so I did urine and blood test both came negative..doctor advised me to take duphaston 10 mg for 5 days. I took it for 5 days but still periods not came..what could be the reason for delay.. is it possible that I am pregnant.. I am regular menstruation cycle of 30 days..

Duphaston is a drug that is used to treat conditions where progesterone secretion is deficient. It enhances Progesterone secretion during its course so menstruation while you are taking the medicine is not expected. Usually, menstruation is expected in 2 to 3 days after completing the course of the medicine. Sometimes it takes as long as 7 days to start menstruation.

Thus, I would advise you to wait for a few days for your menstruation as you have completed the course. If you do not get menstruation bleeding in a week, you should consult your gynecologist for further investigations.
