Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am due to get my period tomorrow (12/13). I usually get symptoms at least a week before my period comes. Its normally just mild cramps and sore nipples. This month I haven t felt anything. I got my period on time last month (November) and I remember having PMS symptoms. I had unprotected sex on October 22. Could I be pregnant? Could it be the stress of college final exams ? I m 22 btw.
Since after the unprotected sex you got your periods so you need not to worry at all. Delay in menstruation might be related to number of reasons including stress and anxiety so in your case it might be related to exam stress. If it continues to be irregular even after the exam than I would advise you to consult a gynecologist for hormone study and an ultrasound to rule out PCOD and other causes for irregular periods. In my opinion you should wait and watch for menses to happen.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask for follow up question I will be happy to help you.
Best wishes, Dr. B R Hudda
