What Causes Delay In Periods, cramping And Breast Tenderness?

I just turned 49. Period is late for the first time..cramping but no period...a lot of nausea...had a tubal ligation in 2005 after I had my 4th child. Breasts are tender. Last time had a period for a day...then nothing for 3 days while I was sick with cramping and nausea...then bleeding for 2 more days. What is going on?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

It appears as though you are experiencing a hormonal imbalance, which in my opinion is most probably bought about by soon approaching menopause (a.k.a. pre-menopause). I would although recommend a doctors visit to help confirm the cause (i.e. pre-menopause) and rule out all the other causes just to make sure all is well. Please visit a doctor for the same.

Best wishes.
