What Causes Delay In Periods Post Tubal Ligation?

Hello, I am a 31 yr old. Weight 184, Height 5 4 . Just a precursor I had a tubal ligation 4 years ago; so, I m pretty certain I m not pregnant, but my period is 17 days late. For the past week, I have been extremely tired, no appetite, and my breast feel like they have a fever (all previous symptoms of pregnancy). Also, 2 days ago, my tonsils have become extremely swollen, but it is not hard to swallow and I don t have an issue talking or singing. I have been experiencing chills lately as well but no fever. I am going to Urgent Care in the morning to determine if I have some type of tonsil infection. Could my swollen throat glands be connected to my missed period?

Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Sometimes, it happens that monthly periods can be delayed due to various factors including:
- infection (including infected tonsils)
- hormonal imbalance
- stress

If you are sure there is no pregnancy, the periods will be coming soon. If you will still have problems within the next months (3 or more months), should consult with your doctor for further evaluations.

Hope it was of help!
