What Causes Delay In Periods Inspite Of Taking Meprate?
Hi Dr. My last periods was on 29/06/15 and bleeding was very less I am 44 yrs old. I was down with fever during that time. I had meftal forte for fever and Ciprox for 7 days for urinary infection. My usual cycle is 23 days. Pregnancy test done on 20/07/15 and 2/08/15 were negative. doctor had asked me to do series of blood tests for TSH,HCG,FSH,prolactin,FBS and PPBS. Results were normal. Dr had prescribed meprate 10 mg for 5 days. It is one week since I had finished my course. I have not got my periods yet. Need your advice.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... As you are 44 year old, you should know that irregular periods are first sign of approaching menopause. Menopause is the period in a woman's life (typically between the ages of 40 and 50) when menstruation ceases.
Here are other common causes of irregular periods: 1 Excessive weight gain or weight loss 2 Stress or emotional problems 3 Hormonal problems 4 Over-exercising 5 Problems with the pelvic organs such as polycystic ovarian syndrome 6 Eating disorders If problem persists, you should visit a Gynaecologist
Don't worry you would be fine Hoping your query is solved.
