General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
Regestrone is a cyclical hormonal contraceptive. It is to be taken regularly at same time of day without a break for 20 days.. followed by a 7 days gap, when withdrawal bleeding occurs. The new pack is to be started on 5th day of period.
You had been given Regestrone following D&C to control hormonal imbalance that caused heavy bleeding & reestablish normal menstrual cycle. I am afraid you are taking the pills for 4 months at a stretch... that's the cause for not getting periods.,/ putting on weight
I would suggest to stop the pills and consult your doctor for further management.
Thanks.
