Hi, I started my period on the 25th of June and had unprotected sex on the fourth day i.e. on the 28th of June. I had an Ipill the next day i.e. on the 29th of June. My period got over on the 30th of June. After that, I again had mild bleeding from 4th August to 8th August. I am 8 days late on my period this month and I am really stressed about a chance of pregnancy. I was wondering what the chances of pregnancy in this case are? What next steps should be taken?
In fact on day 4 of the menstrual cycle, egg is not present and hence I-pill is not needed. However, it would not cause any harm.
I-pill is an emergency post coital contraceptive pill which contains Progestational compound it. Hence, it has following after effects:
1. Few days after the consumption of the pill, some bleeding may occur. Therefore you had bleeding from 04 August to 08 August. Not an issue of concern.
2. Periods following the pills are known to get delayed by few days to a week or so. You need not worry about this delay. You will get the menses in due courses.
One more advice: Hence forward, please avoid sexual relations during the bleeding phase of the menstruation. Blood is a very good medium for pathological organisms to grow; hence the chances of infection.
I hope this satisfies you today.
