What Causes Delay In Period After Having I Pill?

Hi , my last period was on 4th November 2014, I took an I pill (emergency contraceptive) on 8th November 2014 (5th /last day of my period). I have still not got my periods. I took a test on 1st dec , 5th dec and 10th dec , all my tests came negative .Also I had protected sex on 9th dec 2014 , and I took an I pill in the morning (10th dec , 8:30 am ). also i want to know taking two Contraceptive pill, does it affect my cycle (if yes , how much minimum delay is expected ).Is there any chance of pregnancy , why is my period delayed, i was suppose to get it on 1st december .when can I expect my period . I have heard norethisterone tablet like( prevent – n) helps to induce period . can I take it to force period . If yes, please guide me the dose and for how many days can I take it .

Hello ma'am and welcome.

First of all, the ipill can indeed cause menstrual irregularities and you should be aware of the same before taking medications. Although this menstrual delay is only temporarily and with time it will return to normal. But in addition to the first consumption of the ipill, you took another one on the 9th of December which could have caused a further delay.

Although the action of ipill should have caused a bleed by now, as it hasn't I would recommend a visit to your doctor. Please do not self-medicate. I am sorry I cannot give you the instructions on how to use norethisterone as in such a situation we need to first rule out/confirm pregnancy, and this is best done by a doctor.

Best wishes.
