What Causes Delay In Menstruation After Treated For Food Poisoning?

i had a food poisoning episode on 26 February 2015. I went to the hospital for drips and had 2 injections and ate pills. My period is suppose to come on 15 March 2015. However, to date there is no sign of me having period. Do you think i might be pregnant?

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Yes,it might occur to delay in menstrual bleeding after taking certain pills but it depends on which drugs you have been given and up to how many days.

I hope your food poisoning has been treated sucsscefully with appropriate drugs and you do not have any issue further regarding that.

You should wait for at least one week for your bleeding to start and if it doesn't occur even after 1 week then you should see gynecologist urgently.

However, if you had unprotected intercourse earlier then your pregnancy must be rule out first by UPT testing at home.

Regards,
