What Causes Delay In Conception While Having Irregular Periods?
My bestfriend is 26 and still not yet pregnant. Her periods are often irregular and sometimes not often the same duration each month either. I had a visit with her Gynocologist and stressed her concerns, but she wants me to continue to try more than a year to determine if there is truly a real problem. She becomes 27 in January and I know she has been trying with her husband for over a year now. What do you think? Is there a real problem? could it be her or her husband. He also is 33 w/ no previous children. I know that she is regretting visiting her Gynocologist again to face the actual reality that there maybe really is a problem. What shall She do?

Thanks for raising your concern and problem with having irregular periods is that a girl won't know if she is pregnant since she does not know when to expect her periods.
1. Irregular periods means she is ovulating Irregularly but not conceiving and due to this STRESS there is further delay in ovulation so best thing is to remain calm/relax as far as possible and see a gynecologist and try to determine the reason for her irregular periods.
PS. During investigation,semen report of husband must be seen before invasive investigation in the wife are advised.
2. At home she can keep a check on her ovulation by use of ovulation prediction kit,basal body temperature.
3. It will take time and patience but is not impossible, one has to be proactive
