What Causes Delay In Conception After Removal Of Mirena?

I went to my ob/gyn Doctor on June 15 2015 to remove the Mirena Iud I had for a year. When they were going to remove it they saw that the iud had been expelled and was about to fall out, they just gently pulled it out. Since that day it was removed ,I have been trying to conceive and I haven t used any birth control methods at all. It s been 5 months and I haven t gotten pregnant yet. How long will it take me to conceive? Or why haven t I gotten pregnant yet?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can sometimes take months for a female to conceive after contraception is discontinued.

If your periods are returning normal then you should be able to conceive but if you continue to have difficulty, you and your partner may need to be assessed.
This can be done if a year passes and conception does not occur.

I hope this helps
