What Causes Decreased Urination And Frequent UTI?

Hi my granson is 5 years old is only urinates once a day he is under the hospital for chronic constipation and was born with a UTI which stoped causing him any problems at about three years old and the hospital signed him off, we have been to A & E three times in the last two weeks, bevause he seems to have to concentrate when he does have a wee and he keeps getting a temperature.

Hi.. most common cause of decreased urine is decreased oral intake. I think you should keep a watch on oral intake of the child. If it is less just try to increase the fluids. Another thing that is worrisome is the repeated urinary tract infection. I think urine examination to look for infection and culture of urine for the growth of organisms and their drug sensitivity pattern should be done. Also abdominal ultrasound should be done to look for any abnormalities of the urinary tract or any reflux of urine.
