What Causes Debris In The Bladder With Enlarged Liver?

My 4 year old granddaughter keeps having stomach pain and vomiting. She has been seeing a pediatric gi dr. He has done lots of tests. First x-ray showed enlarged lymph nodes on her right side of abdomen. Second tests showed that dye stayed in her kidney for 30 minutes. Second Ultrasound showed debris in bladder and an a enlarged liver now. What could be some of the causes?

Hello, thank you for posting your query here.
First, debris in bladder and dye staying in bladder for a longtime means she has dysfunctional voiding, that is she does not pass urine well.
Some of the causes are constipation, urinary infection, toilet training issues or habitual.
I would advise you to:
1. get a routine urine examination done, to check if there is urinary infection.
2. address constipation issues, if any. Lots of fluids, fibre like oats and bran, fruits and vegetables. Lactulose syrup if she has hard stools
3. Make her do 'double voiding', that is after she urinates, take her to the bathroom again in ten minutes and ask her to pee. If any residual urine is there in the bladder, it will be emptied now.

Second, enlarged liver can occur with viral infections or typhoid. Along with jaundice it could be a marker of liver disease. If she does not have fever or jaundice, there is nothing to be concerned about a mild liver enlargement if her liver function tests are normal ( if not done, kindly do so) . You could repeat the ultrasound in a month and take a call.
