Hi,
I appreciate your concern for your beloved friend who unfortunately passed away to due to a harmful interaction between alcohol and the drugs. Central nervous (respiratory)
depression seemed to be responsible for his death.
Alcohol when consumed along with antidepressant can increase the side effects of antidepressant like uneven heartbeats, extreme
drowsiness, confusion, agitation, vomiting,
blurred vision, sweating, muscle stiffness, feeling light-headed, and seizures. Alcohol can also increase the risk of stomach bleeding when taken along with Aspirin. Besides, taking Aspirin along with antidepressant can increase the blood levels or add to the side effects of antidepressants. This can cause dry mouth, blurred vision, fever,
dizziness, confusion, stomach pain, slow
heart rate, or problems with urination.
Hope these answer your query. Let me know in case of further queries. A feedback is appreciated.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
