What Causes Darker Nipples During Pregnancy?

Hi, I'm 8 weeks pregnant but i have a threat of miscarriage and i just noticed that the area around my left nipple is lighter in color and the right is getting darker I don't see my obgyn until this coming Friday, so just want to know if this is due to hormonal changes and if its normal since I have read that the areolas may get darker in color.

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion
Colour of areola might not suggest accurately the pregnancy status.Unless you hhave no pain abdomen ,cramps, spotting or bleeding you need not worry.
Take medicines correctly and avoid intercourse,,physical and mental strain.
Dont worry.Causes of miscarriage like hormonal abnormalities like thyroid
abnormalities should be ruled out.
Best regards..Dr srilatha
