What Causes Dark Pigmentation On Cheek During Menopause?

Hi I m going thru menopause now at the age of 52 n pigmentation on my cheek getting darker. Was told it was hormones inbalance. Went to pharmacy n they recommend me to take Proliv plus cap. Since day one I took it my menses came back (after stopping for almost a year) n the flow is normal but it prolong for almost a week. This is the first time I experienced having it for so long as my normal days r only 3 to 4 days. Do I continue taking the supplement n is it the rite one. Need yr feedback n tq.....Margaret

Hi Margaret. Proliv plus caps are not going to help you for pigmentation on face. You need to apply some demelanizing agents like 2% hydroquinone, kojic acid or glycolic acid. Also, use a good quality sunscreen in daytime. As far as menses are concerned, i think you should consult a gynecologist. It needs evaluation. Hope it answers your queries
